The Immigrant Legal Resource Center has put together an important information to help immigrants plan for what may lie ahead in the U.S. under the Trump Administration.
It includes a Family Preparedness Plan, with plans for child care and who will care for children if parents are unable to do so. It also includes a table to provide emergency numbers, including a child’s medical needs, medications, name of doctor, school, name of teacher and more.
Under a “Know Your Rights” section, immigrants are told that they do not have to open their door to ICE officers unless the officers can show them a warrant in the immigrant’s name that is signed by a judge. It also tells immigrants that they have the right to an attorney.
This important information is available also in Spanish at www.ilrc.org.
